Déborah Phares est doctorante en information et communication à l’USL-B. Sa thématique de recherche s’articule principalement autour des contre-discours sociétaux à la propagande islamiste en ligne. Son parcours professionnel a débuté en 2003, au Liban, après un premier master en publicité de l’Académie Libanaise des Beaux Arts. Elle a été conceptrice et rédactrice publicitaire, enseignante universitaire et artiste. En 2017, Déborah obtient un deuxième master en communication politique et lobbying de l’ULB où elle s’intéresse aux contre-discours étatiques à la propagande de Daesh. En 2019, elle obtient l’agrégation en information et communication de l’ULB. Déborah a été Key expert sur le projet EU Neighbors South, project manager pour le projet européen CEAR (Community Engagement Against Radicalisation) et l’association française ‘Syrien ne bouge Agissons’. Elle est actuellement collaboratrice et formatrice à l’association PREVA.NET.

Déborah Phares is a doctoral student in information and communication at USL-B. Her research focuses on societal counter-discourses to online Islamist propaganda. Her professional career started in 2003, in Lebanon, after a first master’s degree in advertising from the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts. She has been an advertising designer and copywriter, university teacher and artist. In 2017, Déborah obtained a second master’s degree in political communication and lobbying from ULB where she focused on state counter-discourses to Daesh propaganda. In 2019, she obtained the agrégation in information and communication from ULB.
