From March 24th to 27th, Kelly Vossen participated in the 74th Annual International Conference of the Political Studies Association (PSA) held at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. The conference, themed “After (Neo) Liberalism: Towards an Alternative Paradigm?” brought together over 750 participants from all over the world. An incredibly stimulating experience to engage with political science researchers. Given that her research focuses on discourses on ecocitizenship, she navigates between the two disciplines and finds value in connecting with her peers from both ICS and Political Science.
She presented within the panel focusing on “Young people’s politics, (in)equalities, and (in)justices”, alongside particularly inspiring researchers. The presentation titled “Exploring Ecocitizenship: Ethnographic Insights in Belgian Youth Activism and Participatory Programs” delved into the exploratory analysis of a portion of her collected material within the context of her doctoral research, addressing the question: “How are discourses on ecocitizenship (de)politicized by young people?”
